The Xbox 360 currently offers users with the opportunity to interact with each other, by utilizing the add-on function that is the Xbox Live. If you’re an Xbox Live member, you are immediately included in the chat list. Therefore, you are able to chat and discuss any point with your friends and family through the Xbox 360 headset. Moreover, you can interact and plan a gaming throwdown with countless other Xbox gamers. Xbox Live can also permit you to shop in the Xbox Live Marketplace, download extra video game features and even access the preview to videos.
If players are enticed by these features and want to become an Xbox Live member, then there are two accounts to select from, divided into two distinct services, these are the – silver and gold accounts.
Firstly, the silver service is just the free version of the Xbox Live. Using this version, gamers can easily go online and download the video games. In addition to this, gamers are even given the capacity to use your very own voice to talk and meet with other Xbox Live gamers. However, this is all the Xbox Live silver provides customers with. If you’re searching for the best Xbox Live experience, the Xbox Live gold account is what you need to go for.
Lastly, the Xbox Live Gold option has additional functions that make it an awesome way to game onthe internet. Apart from the awesome Xbox Live functions, it will provide the users with a bunch of further add-ons. There’s augmented chat compatability, as well as interaction with many Microsoft products, including messenger and other chat and video programs. The most prominent function of the Xbox Live gold is the method in which your web avatar is displayed to the reast of the community. Each account is allowed to create a distinct ‘motto’ displaying to other gamers online, even linking them to Facebook. In addition, you’re also able to hold a record of your achievements. As you play more and more you gradually forge a rep, and if gamers warm to you they are able to rank you positively, making it much better to avoid interacting with gamers holding bad feedback.
Players can also build a full friends list that will list all your chosen buddies. It will also tell you when any of your friends go online. There’s also a recent player list which will record the last 50 friends that you have played with.
The Xbox Live is as good as the Xbox gaming will get. Not only does it provide you with some great gaming but it will also provide you with the opportunity to share your experiences with other users!
The guy I was talking about the other day says that there’s no chance of full games being available for download on consoles any time soon.
Well, full game or not, right now on Xbox live arcade is Magic the Gathering, based on the collectible card game of the same name. Diehard Gamer, who admits to being a MTG addict in the ’90s gives it a generally favorable review and says, “It is the best $10 I have spent in a while.” [Source]
If a virtual card game seems a bit tame, there’s only a few more days until you can download Battlefield 1943. Priced at 1200 MSP or $15, the title will be available on July 8, a day before the PS3 release. Video below. [Source]
There’s just a chance that you might be hungering for a platform game… No? Well, in case you care Polytron Corp has announced that its platform game Fez will be available on Xbox live arcade next year… So don’t hold your breath, ok? [Source]
Fable II has been out a while now. Time enough for you to have finished the game, probably more than once, and if you haven’t finished the first add-on yet, it’s likely you’ll have done it by May. Which is good, because the next bit of dlc for Fable II, “See the Future”, featuring the Ghosts of the Snow Globe Quest, the Cursed Knight Quest and the Colosseum, is due out some time that month – but publishers Lionhead haven’t said when, exactly.
Amazon has run out of Fable II Limited Edition, but at the time of writing, there are 14 available from the marketplace from $40 – which is less than the standard version.
Ninja Blade is also due out tomorrow. Amazon have a pre-order offer – you get a token for some free dlc. You only have a few hours, so go and order it now, if you’re interested.
The Godfather II comes out on the same date as the others, finally.
Amazon is offering $9 off the price, if you pre-order all three games (Dark Athena, Ninja Blade and GodfatherII) together. Again, this is only available for the next few hours.
Both Halo 3 and GoW 2 are to get a new lease of life with the release of new dlc. The Halo content is due to come onstream on 9 April and will set you back 800 MS points, and the Gears of War maps are out on the 31st March at the same cost. [Source]
If you’ve ever hankered after a motion controller like the Wii, your dreams will come true “by the end of the year”. The picture shows the device, which is scheduled to be launched at the Games Developers 09. It’s coming with a mini games collection called Squeeballs. No details on price yet. [Source]
BitTorrent for the Xbox may have been a dream, but now it could be a reality – IF you have a PC and it’s networked with your ‘box. The torrent software, Vuze, actually runs on the PC, and the downloads can then be dragged to the Xbox using the sidebar. Source
