EA demonstrates corporate FU attitude not limited to MS

September 3rd, 2008 at 06:00pm Under Uncategorized

Electronic Arts provide the latest example of Big Business’ ability to treat the customer like sh*t and think it’s a virtue. The game in question is one for the PC, but that doesn’t mean they might not do the same thing to you one day.

Here’s a good scam:
1. Announce a Limited Edition product eight months in advance
2. Collect orders
3. Require payment in advance
4. Deposit the money at high interest
5. If customers move, refuse to change the order address, return deposit (without interest)
6. Blame it on the fulfilment house
7. Rinse and repeat (if you still have a business)

Full story: The Consumerist.

The Warhammer game shown here is not produced by Electronic Arts.

Sorry for the loss of transmission. Just goes to show that it’s possible to make backups and try to cover every angle before installing something new – and still screw your system completely.

Anyway, I’ve now got some sort of working system, so will get posting soon.

Well, here we are. Hope you like the new theme. It’s mostly sorted out, but there are still a few bits and pieces to do.

I’ve no idea how he got here, but we got our first comment from Zackery T. Keys before I’d even finished sorting out the layout.

Xbox 360 News is Moving, Ed Dale and the Queen of England

Queen struck by RROD

I’m finding Tumblr more difficult to use than another blog I have running on Word Press, and I still can’t get the widgets working in the sidebar, so I’ve decided to move it over. This will most likely take a couple of days.

In the meantime, proof that the RROD has no favorites comes from Ed Dale, internet marketer best known for the Thirty Day Challenge, who was playing a new game he received for his birthday when rrodoom struck.

For some reason, I got this image of the Queen of England watching Prince Phil play Halo 3, “One is cheering One on!” and struck down by the Red Ring. Lol.
