Stuart Beattie writes new Halo film script?

This came out on 1st April, so don’t count on it, but it seems that Stuart Beattie, who wrote the screenplays for Spy Hunter, Gears of War and Splinter Cell has spent his spare time writing a script for a new Halo film, based on the novel Halo: Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund. It seems that Stuart is a big Halo fan, and wants to make sure the film is finally made.

The plot follows the forcible induction of a six-year-old child named John into the UNSC and his training to eventually become Master Chief 117 and answers many of the questions that Halo fans have had for years about how Master Chief became the man he is.

Like I said, this came out on April Fool’s Day, so I can’t be sure it’s not some sort of joke (not very funny, if so), even though the original source swears it’s verbatim. In any case, it’s not coming out tomorrow, so if you’d like to find out about Master Chief’s back story before that, the book’s on sale at Amazon for $8.76: Halo The Fall of Reach, and in the UK for £5.49: Halo: The Fall of Reach.
