Still no release date for UT3 on Xbox?

Unreal Tournament 3, which came out on PS3 in the US at Christmas, will be showing at Midway’s next Gamers Day in Las Vegas. According to the UT official forum, “we’re going to be playing it with some members of the press.” But, although the May issue of EGM says the release date will be in May, Epic themselves say that the final date hasn’t been decided on.

So, does Amazon know something different? It looks like it, for sure. Amazon UK are listing both used and new copies for sale, and availability as: “Usually dispatched within 3 to 5 weeks” and Amazon.com has “This item will be released on June 30, 2008.”

Anyway, this game (in earlier versions) has been popular with gamers for years, gameplay is great, and the ability to build your own maps is a definite plus. It’s rumored that Microsoft’s attitude to user-generated content is what has been holding up the release for Xbox 360. Whatever, you can pre-order now and whenever it does finally get released, you will be sure of getting a copy from the first batch to hit the stores.
